If you use a space heater, it is important to know they should be plugged directly into the wall. Never plug space heaters into an extension cord or power strip. You should also know that space heaters use a lot of electricity and could make your bill quite a bit higher. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, space heaters cause nearly 22,000 residential fires annually, leading to about 300 deaths and thousands of burns. We want you to stay warm but also be safe in the process.
